Launching Brand Intersection Group in 2007 was a natural progression in a career that has seen Charlie master numerous leadership positions in advertising, marketing, coaching, and education.


While almost all leading marketers espouse the virtue of integration, Charlie has walked the walk. As the driver behind Brand Intersection Group, Charlie uses the experience of multiple senior leadership positions in advertising, brand strategy, digital & direct marketing, cause branding, public relations, video syndication, and experiential marketing to elevate brand strategy. With a practical understanding of the unique daily challenges of each discipline, Charlie, along with the BIG team, knows what it takes to develop carefully considered solutions for any branding or leadership quandary.   

Charlie’s arsenal of experience has been built over a quarter century working with more than 150 clients and selling more than 170 products and services for the world’s most admired brands, leading non-profits and critical government communication programs. BIG is proud to have served established market leaders including Ritz Carlton, Marriott, Panera and Hershey as well as emerging leaders like sweetgreen, SoulCycle, Mic and Bai.

What further distinguishes Charlie is the careful balancing of organizational branding with leadership coaching. Charlie is an ICF Professional Certified Coach and works as President of Truepen Coaching, helping leaders develop and hone their skills in alignment with their vision and values. He has now coached hundreds of C-Level executive over thousands of hours of one on one and team coaching engagements. Many BIG clients engage Charlie for both branding and coaching support.


Charlie has inspired, co-created and crafted a vast array of extraordinary work. Together, he and his teams have earned many of the industries leading awards, including Cannes, CA, One Show, Silver Anvil, Effie, Ex Award, and Agency of the Year. A favorite guest marketing expert on WUSA-Television, Charlie has also had the pleasure of sharing his expertise and opinions in national and regional publications including Fast Company, Brandweek, The Washington Business Journal, and Promo.


Charlie made a personal commitment to give back as an educator. An adjunct faculty member at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business from 2003-2014, Charlie was recognized with The Peter W. Gonzalez, Jr. Award for Excellence in Adjunct Faculty Teaching 2010, the highest honor given to adjunct faculty.

A fourth generation marketer, Charlie is the proud father of four sons and has enjoyed 28 years of marriage with his wife Meg.  When he isn’t uncovering revolutionary insights or developing leadership strategy for the country’s foremost brands and leaders, Charlie is also an aspiring blues guitarist, avid golfer, stubborn dry fly fisherman, successful poet, opinionated film critic, master wine taster, and all around modern-day Indiana Jones (…or at least that’s what some of his friends call him).
